Western Trail Saddles for Your Gaited Horse
Gaited horse saddles are designed specifically to fit gaited horses and assist them in comfortably moving in their natural gait. With these gaited saddles you have a choice of 2 different gaited tree sizes in a wood tree--wide or narrow, as well as a gaited flex tree in the wide size.

These gaited saddles with bars that are more angled also accomodate any breed of horse if they have a lot of angle to their topline. So horses with big shoulders (which includes a lot of quarter horses) and horses that have a prominent wither (Thoroughbred) may be more comfortable in a gaited tree. If you aren't sure of your horses's build, but know that a "regular" quarter horse tree does not seem to work well for them - more often than not a gaited tree is the way to go.

About Mountain Horse Gaited Saddles...
Mountain Horse gaited horse tree comes in choice of either 6 1/2" or 7" gullet.
What makes a saddle tree a GAITED tree? The gullet is taller than a standard horse tree and the front of the tree is flared outward so it won't interfere with the shoulder of the gaited horse. This specific design allows your gaited horse to easily move into his/her gaits!
Tree is fiberglass covered wood for strength and durability. We now have a gaited flex tree available in TWO SIZES ONLY--7" gullet with either a 16" or 17" seat. The gaited flex tree adds $35.00 to the cost of your saddle (the gaited flex is intended for the broader built gaited horse).

Features of the Mountain Horse Gaited saddles:
Available in seat sizes from 15"-17" at standard pricing. We can build wood trees from 13" to 21" at an additional cost.
Choose either padded slick leather or padded suede seat in different colors. Different border toolings, spot tooling and full coverage tooling available as well--see Saddle Options.
Comes with a felt pad on the underside of the saddle, but you can choose to upgrade to mock wool or real wool fleece.
These saddles also available in an endurance style with no horn.
Comes standard with nylon latigo and nylon off billet.
